Hey everyone!
I am Carlos
Alberto Peña, a first year here in UCSB as a Pre-Comm major. I am from Pomona,
CA, down in the Los Angeles Area. My passion is soccer—the real football—and I hope
to make it as far as I can with the sport. As of right now I have made t as far
as to the club level here in UCSB, hopefully I can make it to the Division I
team within the next few years. I affiliate myself to a few different teams, all
in different countries of course. I am an LA Galaxy, Manchester United, Real
Madrid, Chivas de Guadalajara and Juventus supporter. Why do I love the sport
so much? I believe there is nothing like it. I strongly believe that you learn
so much from football; for example, you learn passion, technique, quick
thinking, control, and balance. I have never seen a sport with more passion
than football, and I do not think I ever will. I love listening to Frank
Sinatra—and similar artists like him such as Dean Martin and Nat King Cole—I just
love the classic feel and the soothing sensations I get from listening to this
kind of music. Odd enough, I do not know where my love for this music came
from, I just started listening to it. Another cool fact about me, I think it is
cool, is that I enjoy reading comic books—mostly DC Comics like Batman,
Superman, Green Arrow and so on. I hope to someday try to create or work with
DC Entertainment so that I can have a say on a television show or movie. That
is one of the reasons as to why I chose to be a Comm major. A communications
degree can help me get into many different areas that I enjoy. I love the film
and media area, sports broadcasting, sports reporter, and publicity and i believe the communication degree will lead me in the right direction.
Sinceriously,
Carlos Alberto Peña
